The Met is the largest art museum in the country with over 1.5 million works spanning 5,000 years, all of it housed in around 2.2 million square feet of floor space. Make the most of your time with skip-the-line entry and a curated introduction to exhibits on display during the day of your visit.

Meet your guide inside the Great Hall, a grand entry point for this neoclassical “palace of art.” In your 30-minute guided introduction, you’ll learn from an expert what makes the Met so incredible, including its momentous founding in 1870.

Your guide will also share insider tips to help maximize your experience inside the museum. Get an introduction to current exhibits, and feel free to ask for recommendations if there’s a specific type of art or style that you want to see.

Your skip-the-line Met ticket is included with this tour. After your guided intro, you’ll enter the museum to explore at your leisure. Most people spend 2-3 hours, but you’re welcome to stay longer.

There’s so much to see at the Met! During your guided introduction, you will get helpful tips and context that will help maximize your experience. You’re completely on your own once you enter the museum, so feel free to stay as long as you’d like. Most guests spend around two hours inside, though you could easily spend 3-4.

Is this tour wheelchair accessible?

Yes, this tour is accessible for both wheelchairs and strollers.

What is the cancellation policy?

We understand plans change. We offer a 100% refund or the option to reschedule up to 24 hours before your tour start time. Cancellations within 24 hours aren’t eligible for refunds or rescheduling.

What art will I see?

We aim to show you the very best art at the Met. However, what’s on display can vary, so if an art piece we typically show isn’t available, your guide will substitute it with something else.

When should I get there?

This experience starts promptly, and you won’t be able to enter the museum if you miss your tour. We suggest arriving 30 minutes early as there will be a line for the security check before you can meet your guide inside the Met. If you arrive early enough, please use the bathroom and the coat check ahead of time.

Are gratuities included?

Tips aren’t included but are always appreciated by our guides. If you think your guide did an outstanding job, a tip is a great way to show that.

Do you have gift certificates?

Yes! If you want to give the gift of New York (or any of our destinations) to someone else, you can purchase a tour gift card. Our gift cards are good for any of our tours, and they never expire.
