Our guided DUMBO walking tour begins at one of the neighborhood’s most historic sites, Plymouth Church. Learn why it was once called the “Grand Central Station” or “Grand Central Depot” of the Underground Railroad, and hear how the passionate abolitionist, Henry Ward Beecher, spoke out for freedom during some of America’s darkest days.

As you walk with your guide to Fruit Street Sitting Area, you’ll stroll further back in time. At this overlook, admire views of New York Harbor and Lower Manhattan as you stand where the largest conflict of the American Revolution, the Battle of Brooklyn, took place. Discover how General Washington managed a tactical escape from the British when they were outnumbered two to one, losing the battle but ultimately winning the war.

Fast forward to 1938. That’s when L&B Spumoni Gardens opened in Brooklyn. Now a favorite pizzeria, they serve a different slice of pie: the airy square Sicilian pizza. Follow your guide’s recommendation and try a slice. Food is optional at every stop on this tour, but your guide will have suggestions at each place.

Another spot for photography lovers, Fulton Ferry Landing gives you a great shot of the Brooklyn Bridge. Your guide will share the saga of its creation, with more than a few twists and turns, before you head to your next restaurant: Luke’s Lobster. It’s not a Brooklyn food tour if you don’t visit this NYC-born staple. Their fresh Maine lobster rolls are sustainably sourced and delicious.

Our tour continues on to Empire Stores and Main Street, the heart of DUMBO in Brooklyn, as your guide tells stories along the way. We finish in the best way possible with chocolate from Mr. Chocolate himself. The famous French chocolatier Jacques Torres Chocolate, crafts truffles, cookies, chocolate bars, and more, and the smell alone is decadent.

Expect to take amazing photos throughout the tour — from Pebble Beach to the Manhattan skyline with the Empire State Building easily visible to the perfect viewpoint of the Manhattan Bridge, framed by a cobblestone street and historic architecture. Want a pic of you and your group? Just ask! Our guide is happy to help you capture the memory of your Brooklyn food tour here in hip, historic DUMBO.
